Albatros DVa Online Build

Welcome to the online build site

This site will describe the steps in building the Model Airways Kit of the Albatros DVa fighter from World War One in 1/16th scale.

Construction of the fuselage | Tailplane | Wing Construction | Upper Wing Construction | Mercedes 180 HP Engine | Fuselage Fittings | Latest Progress Pictures | Spandau Machine Guns | Final Pictures

The construction of this model was started at the beginning of January. The kit cost about 100 pounds including post and packing. This is still a considerable saving over buying the kit direct from a supplier in the UK. I intend to update this site with pictures of the build as I move through each phase of the construction process.

This rendition of the Albatros DVa has been done by Mark Miller on a computer and shows what the finished model should look like. I have not decided yet how much of the aircraft I intend to cover, but I would like to depict some of the lozenge pattern fabric, covering the wings, as well as some of the plywood covered fuselage.
